Fill-in-the-Blank Friday

Happy Friday my dears! I didn't think the weekend was ever going to get here! So it's been a while since I've done this particular series and after thinking about it a bit, I knew exactly what I was going to ask you today... and it's a goody!

Today's question has to do with celebrities. Have you ever met one? And how were they? Nice, snotty, nothing like you expected? I have to honest, I've never met one. Don't get me wrong, I'm constantly on the lookout for them! But nothing. I might have to make a trip out to LA to mark this one off ;-)

So here's your Fill-in-the-Blank question: "You guys will never believe who I've met before! I met _____________ !"

Can't wait to hear your celebrity stories!! Check out these lucky fans...

I met Ron Livingston from Office Space! In Cedar Rapids, IA of all places (but it is where he is from I guess) :)

Jonathan Papelbon (Red Sox pitcher/closer). He has a steryotype around Boston of being kind of an a** with his over the top antics. I met him outside WENDYS, how hilarious is that. he was SO nice and so friendly, we chatted it up while his wife bought him chicken nuggets!

Ooo fun! I've met Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, Celine Dion, Nicolas Cage and a couple others but I can't remember their names right now ;) That was when I was working in a hotel and restaurant!

Flavor Flav - reallly funny!
Marc Anthony - Total sweetheart, before he married J-Lo
Soluja Boy - he was a bit snotty, but not too bad.

I've actually met quite a few. My job has put me in touch with them and also living in NYC you kind of bump into them a lot.

My favorite coolest moment of all time was meeting Madonna, Ashton Kutcher, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Lucy Liu, Kate Hudson, Sean Williams Scott, Salma Hayek all in one night!!!

Here are some others but it's hard to remember everyone...Julia Roberts, Elisha Cuthbert, Kimora Lee Simmons (I designed her cosmetics line and even went to her house a few times), Russel Simmons, a few other celebrities I've done beauty products for...Joan Collins & Joan Rivers, Dr. 90210, lots of models...I work with them all the time, Adriana Lima, Josie Maran, Jessica Stam...

And then lots of hockey players too.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend sweetie! xoxo

i used to work in the fashion business and I 've met tons of supermodels: some of them very cool, others...not so cool. And I've met Bruce Willis and Demi moore in Portofino ages ago, and they were super friendly. Also Michael J Fox and wife, about three years ago, they're amazing people. Michael had children screaming around him and laughed and took pictures with all of them, they were vacationing in Florence, but did not mind being approached by people. He told my friend "wow, that ice cream look great, where did you get it?" and we saw him going get the ice cream where suggested.

Seriously, I'm loving all of your stories!! I can't believe you guys have met so many celebrities! I'm so jealous.

Jo said...

Never met any. I have seen a few out in public. But I'm not someone who would approach a famous person in public. Plus, I'm just not really starstruck. I think they are just regular people who lucked up with their careers.
*I'm so boring. I know.

I will tell you this. My hubby and I were swimming in the river when a local news personality (well known in our area) showed up with two of his granddaughters. We sat and giggled under out breath as the two adolescent girls cussed like sailors. I'm quite a potty mouth, but those girls made me sound like a saint. The news guy didn't seem the least bit concerned with their language.

Oh my gosh you are so sweet! Thank you for your encouraging comments. That means a lot coming from you. I think your style and your blog are fantastic. I just don't understand where everyone gets all the time!! I have been MIA forever and am just back on today. (I was actually feeling quite discouraged this a.m.) And It's already "Time's Up!" My kids are late for camp, no one has a packed lunch, and I have a client appointment in one hour. Did I mention I haven't had a shower! Thanks again!

What a fun Fill in the blank Friday! I have met many celebs because I am not shy when I see one I ask for a picture. But my best celeb experience so far was in Vegas for my birthday at PURE, Bobby Flay was at the table next to us and Bobby and I had a dance off. He was also hanging with Guy Ferreri and they were just so fun.

I also won the dance off against Bobby so that was pretty awesome :)

Happy Friday!

I've met quite a few, though none recently... Elton John (very nice); Christie Brinkely (even prettier in person); Steve Stevens (quiet); Stevie Ray Vaughn (Super nice - RIP Stevie); Stevie Nicks (polite) Bonnie Raitt (very friendly); Donny Osmond (LOL!!) Jeff Healy, the guys from Tears for Fears (SO dating myself now) Donald Sutherland, Brian Dennehy (a wee bit chilly), Harrison Ford (so nice, but we were really conscious of not being pests because a lot of people were staring and talking to him), Howard Stern, Susan Lucci, the guy from Jefferson Airplane whose name I totally forget, and a few more musicians. (most of them were due to an old job I had while I was in school). Geez, you brought back some old memories. I used to be WAY more exciting than I am now! lol!

So fun to read everyone's comments! I haven't met anyone famous really! Maybe one day!

Michael Jordan!!! I was tipsy, invited back into his VIP lounge (I was studying in Ireland, him and his gang were there for some Golf tournament) and next thing I know I'm asking him how he feels about doggy style (sorry I know that sounds so crude, but I was younger and a lil buzzed lol). His response was "I'm a fan" :)

When I worked at American Rag Cie. in LA for a few years I had many encounters with celebs. I have a journal there were so many. But it was The Boss who made me starstruck–and I'm not even a Springsteen fan! I mean I appreciate his music and all but when he asked me about the song we were playing at the time in the store (Massive Attack) I freaked out. And then he proceeded to ask me about them and to see the CD cover. He was super cool and thankful. Good times:)

Thanks for popping over! I haven't met anyone hugely famous but Tina Turner walked past me in London many years ago and I was too dumbstruck to ask for her autograph.

Haha Oh I'm so glad I didn't offend you! I wasn't sure if it was a too inappropriate to say... But anyways, no nothing more happened :-p He was really very nice, and I danced with his friend and fellow bball player, Charles Barkely - he was so tall that I had to stand on a step and still I only reached his chest! haha It was in this little lounge called Lily Bordello's in Dublin. Great night, wish I remembered more! hehe =)

Seen a ton of them, haven't really spent any time with them. Probably the most exciting thing ever though, regarding that, was when I was sitting in a diner on the Upper East Side and I looked out the window and saw the most gorgeous argyle cashmere sweater (of course, I noticed the sweater first), then looked and it was attached to Soon-Yi Previn, who was attached to Woody Allen. So of course in a most un-New Yorker fashion, I actually jumped up and yelled "There's Woody Allen!" Really, I was excited, I mean, he's a true talent, IMO! Great idea for a post, Jen, and I love your new profile picture!

Diana Ross in the lobby at the Sherry Netherland Hotel, Sean Connery at the side door of The Plaza, Pierce Brosnan in the bar at the Plaza Athenee (they were all very lovely & understood being adored by pretty women) + tons of sports figures because all the men in my life are nuts. This is such a cute cute idea. xx's

Scott Speedman - amazingly nice guy and he initiated it. that was one for the books and I gave new meaning to the word stunned.

Giovanni Ribisi - a few times and a little quirky but decent.

Kiefer Sutherland - complete crackup, totally personable and every once in awhile when we see him around he totally waves and remembers us.

Renee Russo - at the pet store. i was ass in the shelf digging out a big bed for my cat and didn't know it was her. She was with her daughter and they were asking me questions about if the bed would work for their small dog. I was thinking uh, lady I don't know and I don't work here, but I hauled one out for her to look at and when I looked up was mildly shocked. We laughed as I said - oh, it's you -even though I couldn't remember her name.

Austin Peck - played Austin on Days of Our Lives years ago. Was in the fitting room at Macy's waiting for the seamstress and he was w/his wife and kid. Totally walked up and was like "hey, how's it going". I recognized him but thought it was a guy I knew from highschool...even though I'm Canadian. (uh, helloooo carrie) Anyway we were talking like we knew each other because I didn't want to appear like I couldn't remember him. Then when I closed the fitting room door it hit me like a ton of bricks. That was a weird one.

Britney Spears - didn't meet her, but passed her in the grocery store and we totally smiled at each other. Pre-marriage to KFed although he was parked across from me in the parking lot when I came out.

There's a long comment and a half!

Fox would be great, and so many more...But in my side of the world where I live there are not so many famous people, I think ;o) Wish you a very happy weekend!!!

What a fun post! I've actually met heaps. to be fair, it's mostly because I worked on a bonkers late night talk show in australia. Here's a bit of a list;
Michael Caine (love him. Very sweet man)
Jon Bonjovi, actually the whole group. Jon was really lovely and so was Richie Sambora (though probably naughty)
Russell Crowe (surly, and likes ladies)
Kylie Minogue (ultra sweet)
so many more, but I won't bore you!
Have a great weekend!

The only quasi celeb I've met is Jesse Ventura. He came to speak at my high school. He was SO full of himself, I just wanted to smack him.

And if you said or asked him anything that disagreed with his politics he'd immediately talk over you and refuse to listen to your point. Yuck.

Joey Lawrence (Nicest guy ever), Kandi from "The Housewives of Atlanta" (Not so nice), John Cougar Mellencamp and his LOVELY wife Elaine (beyond nice and generous), John Voight (extremely nice and polite).

I have met plenty of others too (I am a flight attendant and they are often on our flights). It's always nice when the celebs are nice, but when they are rude--ugh, no thank you!!!!

I met the Backstreet boys when i was in sydney, i and my chummies were seated just a few tables away from them, but then again it was in the 90's when they were just starting out, so i didn't even ask for autographs or pics cos i just didn't know who they were then, LOL, xoxo

These are SO fun and funny to read, so I'm commenting again. Can i also tell you I met Michael Bolton at the Boca Raton Beach Club? I was NINE years old. My cousins and i were obsessed with his music. he wasn't super friendly, but he did give us autographs. He was on his huge cell phone (no one had cell phones then) and signed autographs as he chatted away with whoever was on the other end. hahaha. too funny.

In the late 80's I worked for a very upscale hotel in Northern CA. I met lots of stars. My favorites by far were Goldie Hawn and Kirk Russell. They tried to sneak in a restuarant on the hotel property without being spotted. Unfortunately... the window doors were locked because it was the fire exit. I can still hear her famous giggle when they realized the doors weren't going to open and everybody saw them.
