Wonderful Worlds

Not that I ever thought maps were boring. Ok, maybe when I was a teen. But I never thought that maps would be this amazing and this gorgeous. From studies, to nurserys, to entry ways, my dears, maps are the way to go!

Absolutely! My children will have to have a world map in their nursery and bedroom. And then we'll have a globe in our front room to look extra smart.

I have a map of Napa Valley in my house framed. Does that count? ;)

Stephanie @ La Dolce Vita said...

Loved these! I am ordering a map 26 x 24 - it is antique looking but the info is current. I'm framing it over corkboard and the kids will be able to put pins in everywhere we've visited.

These are all such beautiful rooms! I love the subtle nautical feel the maps give off. There's something very serene about them! Love this idea!

Love all of these. So funny I just did a child's bedroom and the client wanted the exact same Ralph Lauren map wallcovering that I had in my son's room. But it's discontinued. I found something similar but she didn't like that it looked like layered maps, vs. one big continuous map. I have to show her this post. Number two is that layered map look, which I think is a very cool, classic wall treatment. Thanks!

I haven't thought of doing a map as decoration, but it looks fabulous. Maybe I could combine the look with function and plot my "to go" wish list with it.

I can't get over the neutral, wallpapered map room. LOVE.

I love your choices.
I remember when I first saw that room in the second photo I thought the pattern on the walls was from someone tearing away parts of old wallpaper, exposing some wall and leaving behind some layers of paper.
Great texture, beautiful feeling.
