Do or Don't

I think we can all agree, there's nothing that beats a great pair of jeans! But what about a great jean shirt? I remember I used to wear one years & years ago but I'm not sure why because a) it was a little too stiff for my comfort and b) I always felt goofy in it. How could I not, I was dressed head to toe in jean! But what do you think, do or don't when it comes to jean shirts? Do you own one? Do you wear it??

I have a denim shirt.
Just like you I feel totally STIFF in it.
For some weird reason every time I wear it I say to myself that I will give it away and then I think "oh I will give it another try..."
So yes, I still have it... will let it see the light one of these days, but NOT jeans on jeans... nono

I used to have a favorite denim shirt back in the 90's that I thought was so cool. Not much for them now. Thanks for your visit and comment!

I probably wouldn't buy one because of the comfort factor.... it would have to be really, really lightweight and soft and really faded pale blue. xo

Haven't worn a jean shirt in many years, but one of my favorite photos of me is in my jean shirt!

Hey Jen! Oh my, I remember wearing jeanshirts, ugh! The 90's fashion, what were we thinking?!

Kristen said...

bringing it back. My mom used to rock the jean shirt and I think I had one too. Maybe they should be rocked with khakis to avoid an all over intense jean look?!

I've definitely worn my fair share of denim shirts in the past but I must say, they are gone for me now! I love, love, love jeans though!!

I've never been a fan of jean-on-jean. But I think I could do a denim shirt with something else : )

My favorite shirt is a $12 denim shirt from Walmart...who knew! It's comfortable, fits great, and I love it :) I don't wear it will denim on the bottom though. I wear it with black casual pants or shorts.

I've seen it pulled off quite fabulously, but I'm not sure if head-to-toe denim is my thing ;)

I absolutely own one and I wear it over a couple of gap camis and a pair of leggings! It's super casual and better than a jacket. For shoes I wear clogs or flip-flops. Can't go wrong.

Have to say I'd also wear it tied at the waist with a pair of white wide leg denim and an espadrille wedge.

Not sure I'd put together an outfit like this, feels too much denim, but separately I'd wear them for sure! xoxox

I think if it's done the right way, it's ok. But I think it's very difficult to do it the right way!!

i haven't owned one in so long! I remember in HS we would call girls who wore jean shirts with jean pants "jean jean ho's"....I know, so original. anyway...now they are all in style and I really like it but my inner High Schooler fears being a JJH! i'll do it if you do!

Jo said...

I'm gonna pass on the denim shirt thing. However, I do think that to pull this look off, you can't wear the jean shirt with jeans. It's just wrong. It's like leisure suit wrong.

Taylor said...

other girls can pull it off, but not me... its cute but not for me... def comfy tho

Anonymous said...

I cannot pull the look off but I do know some people that can, but it is just not for me.

Marta said...

I had one too...but I don't know what I was thinking :)

I have two, I usually wear them all the time. I posted a couple times on my blog. I think it's a great look, but I think some people think it's a bit too "texas tuxedo" :)

thais said...

the funny thing is that I love it and think it's so sexy but can never pull it off. I use to have these jean jackets back in the days and gave them all away ;)

I've been thinking about getting a denim shirt since last fall. Haven't gone for it yet, but maybe sometime soon!

PursuitOfLLT said...

Not a huge fan of it...I mean come on, Canadian Tuxedo anyone?

I just think you have to limit the jean to jean ratio.

Although I LOVE jean shirt dresses. so cute with a belt and flats. or tights and boots in the fall :)

Why is it that I can't ever pull off these current trends?? They always seem to look better on someone else (ie a beautiful model) ;-)
